About the school

Kakanju Vocational Secondary School is located in Kakanju Sub-county, Igara West, Bushenyi District, Western Uganda.

The school provides secondary education alongside practical vocational training, creating opportunities for learners to develop both academically and technically. This distinctive approach reflects our motto, “Education for Self Reliance,” and prepares learners with practical abilities that can support them during and beyond their school years.

In August 2025, the school marked 25 years of service to the community, celebrating a journey of education, skills development and service to young people in Kakanju and surrounding areas.
